Harmanpreet Kaur stars in famous win for Lancashire Thunder
India’s star batswoman - Harmanpreet Kaur is having the time of her life as she turned out to play another match winning knock, but this time it was for The Lancashire Thunder on what seems to be her debut season in the KIA Women’s Cricket Super League.
The Surrey Stars scored a competitive 148 in their 20 overs. Kaur counter attacked by scoring an attacking 34* of just 21 balls when the Thunders lost 4 wickets. Harmanpreet even scored a match winning six when Lanacashire needed 4 of the final 2 deliveries of the game.
The Thunder’s were under the pump when Surrey reduced them to score 11 of the final over. Kaur was on strike when 8 were needed of the last 3 balls. India’s IT20 captain scored a boundary and smashed a six over deep midwicket in succession to win it in style for her team.
While Harmanpreet made a name for heself in the Super League last evening, her compatriot – Smriti Mandhana has been in red hot form for the Western Storm by scoring an unbeaten 43 of 27 balls over Southern Vipers, followed by a blistering 50 of just 18 balls which has lead her knock to be the joint fastest fifty along with New Zealand’s Sophie Devine.
