Here are the top 7 players that can surprise the world this time in Russia, 2018 World Cup.

Emile Forsberg – Sweden

Emile Forsberg plays for RB Leipzig as a winger or central attacking midfielder. He has played a very crucial role in Sweden’s qualification of the World Cup. He has scored 6 goals in 34 games for Sweden.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic retiring, he is the main man of Sweden.

Forsberg’s impressive performances have attracted interest from many clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool.

If Sweden want to have a great campaign in Russia, a lot will rely on Emile Forsberg.

Alex Iwobi – Nigeria

Alex Iwobi plays for Arsenal as a winger but for Nigeria he plays in the midfield.

Iwobi, who has been excellent for his country, faces a lot of criticism at Arsenal.

While playing for Arsenal, Iwobi has scored 9 goals in 98 games and on the other hand, he has scored just 5 goals in only 18 games for Nigeria.

Iwobi has been in a good scoring form recently with goals against Argentina and England in the friendlies.

It will be interesting to see whether he can continue his impressive form for Nigeria and lead them to World Cup glory.

Lucas Torriera – Uruguay

Lucas Torriera is a defensive midfielder who plays for Italian club, Sampdoria. He is a very aggressive midfielder who can contribute in front of goal also.

He has scored 10 goals in 105 games which is very impressive for a defensive midfielder and this season Torreira has made impressive 2.8 tackles per game.

His impressive form has made him linked to many big clubs. Many clubs will be seeing him as potential transfer target and good showing at the World Cup will make sure that he will be moving to a big European club.

Gansalo Guedes is a PSG player on loan at Valencia. Guedes has been very impressive in his debut season at Valencia. He has been one of the main reasons of Valencia doing well in La Liga this season.

Guedes has scored lots of goals for Portugal at youth level. He made his debut for Portugal at the age of 18, making him the second player to do so after Cristiano Ronaldo.

Portugal, who are the current European Champions, will be hoping that their young exciting winger will have a great debut world cup.

Andreas Christensen – Denmark

Andreas Christensen is the first and only defender in the list.

Christensen plays for Chelsea football club. Although it has been a poor season for Chelsea but inclusion of Christensen has been a bright spot this season.

He has shown this season that he is very composed and great passer of the ball.He has played 24 games for Chelsea keeping 7 clean sheets.

Denmark have impressive attacking talent with the likes of Christian Eriksen and Yussuf Poulsen staring the side.

Defensively, Denmark will rely a lot on Christensen. So, if Denmark want to have a great world cup run, Andreas Christensen has to make sure his team is solid at the back.

He has already been linked to Real Madrid and Liverpool. He is very clinical in front of the goal, he thrives on the chances given to him and with likes of Kroos and Ozil behind him, he will be getting lots of chances to score goals.
